  1. It is good to have a reliable source of information for something which in our country is still taboo, & thus, soo difficult to find good & accurate information about. This is a very helpful post. Good start to atoz. Good luck.

  2. I’m way past menopause too and hope to be around when my grand daughter hits puberty. But I started way too young and all that I knew was that no one else around me even knew what it was. Thankfully it was painless and short so it really never affected my life. But aren’t I glad I’m done with it for ever!

  3. Very informative – my experience was horrific though. I knew nothing and it decided to appear on my 10th Birthday while I was having my own birthday party!!!

  4. This is good information to have. It should be noted that the myth that pregnancy cannot happen until after the first flow of menses is untrue. It is uncommon, to be sure. However, since the initial flow doesn’t occur until the first egg remains unfertilized, that sexual activity, desired or not, has the chance of resulting in a pregnancy.

  5. I didn’t even know what was happening to me when it happened. Girls are often left confused and scared. This is a brilliant guide and very informative. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Great guide! I had a hysterectomy when I was 36 due to pre cancerous tumors so it’s been a very long time (32 years) since I’ve had a “visit”. I’ll never forget the summer my oldest granddaughter was almost 13. She came to me and ask me if I had “any of those things”. It was her first time so I had to do some scurrying around and give her a quick lesson. LOL

  7. Here in the Uk we were told all about it, but it worried me to death – at that time there wasn’t much to read on the subject. Any sort of down-to-earth explanation is very helpful at that time in your life when you are so very vulnerable and self-conscious. Glad to say that is all past for me now!

  8. I’m a guy, but I’m glad I know about what you have written. I hate how most of the girls are unaware of menstruation when it happens for the first time; it snatches away their chance of being prepared for the same mentally. Good work, because you have explained it in a simple and yet informative manner.

  9. What a detailed, handy guide! Good luck for the future posts Bushra. I’m sure they will be as informative.

Love to hear from you :)
