PCOS also is known as Polycystic ovarian syndrome in this cyst formation in the ovaries are noticed. This disease in females occurs because of hormonal imbalance. This leads to irregular periods, heavy bleeding during the menstrual cycle, facial hairs, hair loss, weight gain, and infertility.
This is the leading cause of female infertility. Though I’ve come across many cases of PCOD that have to conceive. Hence, PCOS/PCOD varies from patients to patients.
I’ve already discussed PCOS in detail in my previous posts. In this session, I’m going to discuss 5 simple steps to treat PCOS. Are you guys ready? Let’s get started.
5 Simple Steps To Treat PCOS naturally
We have seen a woman do a lot of exercises and several medications to shed extra kilos but the results are not appropriate.
On average 10 crores, women suffer from PCOS in India. And 1 out 5 has PCOS.
As far as I’ve noticed, teenagers to mid-age women suffer a lot from this. PCOS is one of those that is not curable in one go. It keeps reoccurring if not treated properly. By doing a few lifestyle changes you can overcome and reduce its effects.
1. Stop taking Uneccessary Medication.
It’s very bad habits especially among women that we take medicine without doctor recommendation. Whether its pain, acidity, weight loss issues, hair fall problem, skin issues, menstrual problems we switch to locally advertise medications without fail.
And also many multivitamins that we unnecessary put in our body system and make it garbage. These unnecessary medications put ovaries health at risk and they start damaging at a slow rate.
It’s my request to all if you are suffering from PCOS, weight gain, hair fall, skin issues please consult your doctor before falling trap to any kind of medications. And also inform them of the medicine you are taking so that they can rule out which medicine is triggering PCOS.
2. Avoid Processed food items.
The food that comes in the package available in the market, in which chemicals and preservatives are used so that they can be used for a long period of time.
Like if you cook fries at home, it remains fresh for 1-2 days or says freshly made juice that remains fresh for mere 3-4 hours.
What’s your opinion about home-made food is fresh for a short span of time and processed food which is available for 6-1yr of the expiry date. It’s clear that these are loaded with chemical and preservative and we are continuously put these in our body system.
These chemicals and preservatives further worsen the PCOS conditions and other body systems. So please stay away from processed food. If you have cravings for chips, juice, make some fresh for yourself.
3. Follow Healthy Plate Method
The popularly asked question about PCOS is what to eat? My one and the only answer is to follow the healthy plate method. Fill half-portion of the plate with vegetables, salad. One-forth portion with protein-rich food like lentils, cottage cheese, fish like salmon, rohu, etc.
Avoid cheap fishes that are high in mercuric content, buy fish in freshwater. And the left One-forth portion with complex carbohydrates like roti, rice, millets.
Apart from this take desi ghee in your diet, as discussed in my previous post. Also seasonal foods, probiotics like fresh curd, pickles, sprouts, etc. that helps in maintaining ovarian health. Try to eat locally available fresh food.
4. Regular Exercise.
Try to do at least 20 minutes of exercise on a regular basis. When you do exercise, toxins excretes out from your body. The doctor also recommends exercise for PCOS. Do remember you have to maintain your weight by doing regular exercise. The more your weight increases the more PCOS condition will worsen.
5. Sound Sleep.
Take at least 7-8 hours of sound sleep. Nowadays we go to bed late night and wake up early this disturbs the cycle. Apart from this drink a sufficient amount of water. Avoid Using Plastic, non-stick and aluminum utensils.
These natural tips will help to better the condition of PCOS. By taking healthy food, regular exercise, proper sleep body start recovering. So please take proper care of your health and in case of any doubts consult your doctor.
