We always presume that only costly and imported food items available in the market provide healthy nutrition and boost our immunity. But that’s not the case. If you are also among those people then think twice. It’s mainly because either that food item not available regularly, may be costly to consume on a regular basis or it’s stored food that lost its nutrient with time.
My grandparents always used to consume locally available food and I have never seen them prone to any critical disease of heart, kidney or liver, etc. Actually, with time we have taken a big step towards the modern lifestyle that’s why we don’t want to consume local food.
Stay Healthy with 5 Superfoods In Your Kitchen
Today I’m going to talk about 5 locally available superfoods that actually provide healthy nutrition and boost our immunity. These are available locally and can be easily found in every next kitchen.
1) Garlic
Being a non-vegetarian I used garlic in most of my dishes. Indians commonly use garlic in tadka, making stew or rice, etc. Garlic has anti-inflammatory properties.
There are many reasons because of which our body get inflammations, like menopause, obesity, fatty liver, etc. Because of which we get easily prone to critical diseases like heart diseases or kidney-related diseases. When we consume garlic on a regular basis, it reduces as well as prevents inflammation.
2) Turmeric- Haldi
Turmeric has antibacterial and antiseptic properties. You must have listened about turmeric milk(Haldi wala dudh) and Turmeric oil(Haldi wala oil). In older times, turmeric oil is used to be applied to wounds and it gets healed easily.
Turmeric milk boosts immunity and prevents infections. You can also consume turmeric water or use it in your cooking.
3) Desi ghee / Clarified Butter
I’ve already discussed the benefits of desi ghee in detailed. Desi ghee help in fat burning, weight loss, provides nutrition, boosts our immunity. A healthy person can consume 3 teaspoons of desi ghee in a day. 1 teaspoon in the breakfast, 1 teaspoon in the lunch, 1 teaspoon in the dinner.
4) Mustard seed (rai or sarso ke daane)
It’s rich in selenium content which helps in improving cardiovascular health. The antioxidant present helps in strengthening muscles and joints. You can consume it by making sauce or in your tadka.
5) Flax seeds (Alsi)
It’s easily found in every Indian kitchen. It is good for your heart health, strengths, joints and muscles and promotes weight loss. But if you have skin allergies kindly avoid using this.
I hope that you have found these superfoods in your kitchen. They are inexpensive and easily available. You can use them to improve your health and boost immunity. Stay Healthy with 5 Superfoods In Your Kitchen
