Yes surely it does as the fetus is solely dependent on mother , so what mother eats during pregnancy affects the child not  only in side the womb but long term too. ⁣

Mothers who eat an unhealthy diet during pregnancy may be putting their children at risk of developing long-term irreversible health issues,  including obesity, raised levels of cholesterol and blood sugar.⁣

A study published in Journal of Physiology shows that a mothers diet has an effect lasting beyond adolescence suggesting a long term health impact. ⁣

A mother who eats a lot of junk and processed food tends to gain more weight ⁣study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology showed that the more weight that pregnant women put on, the higher the risk that the child would be obese.⁣

One surprising find from the study was how the maternal diet disrupted the offspring’s metabolism  mothers who had unhealthy diet / junk food , their babies had higher levels of insulin leading to long term risk of obesity ,diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. ⁣
