They are one of the most common bacterial infections in women worldwide…..but why do we get UTIs and what can cause them?

It is getting hot outside.⁣ I see alot of urinary tract infections during summer months.⁣
UTI as they are generally called are infection of whole urinary tract including bladder, urethra, kidneys.⁣

It is more common in women, with mild cases getting better in its own while the frequent and recurrent ones need more vigorous treatment.⁣
Preventive meadures are very important to take care of bladder health.⁣

Cystitis and urinary tract infection can cause discomfort. To prevent this infections, it is recommended that you :

💮 Drink more water:
It helps to remove unnecessary substance from the body.

💮 Urinate more often: Go to the toilet whenever you feel like it ( preferably every 2hours)

💮 Use toilet paper after urinating from urethra to anus. (From front to back) to prevent infection.

💮 Empty bladder after sexual intercourse

💮 Ensure you maintain good personal hygiene ( e.g bath atleast 2 times daily)

💮Don’t use soaps, especially perfumed ones, for intimate hygiene, as the can cause irritation by altering the vagina PH level.
