1.Cleansing:

2. Toning the skin

I’ve received AHA-BHA gel. It has 2% Salicylic acid, 1% Glycolic acid, and Niacinamide. It exfoliates the skin, clears and minimizes pores, brightens the skin tone, even out fine lines and discoloration.

The Glycolic Acid removes dead skin, salicylic acid prevents pimples and niacinamide reduces pores and evens skin tone.

It doesn’t feel heavy in the skin, hydrates the skin well and treats acne. It unclogs pores, prevents breakouts, and dissolves blackheads over time.

The prescription recommends using AHA-BHA gel twice a day after cleansing with a gap of 10 min and followed by a moisturizer with a gap of 10 min. I’ve been using it only once a day during the day time.

It’s recommended to apply sunscreen after using these products in the morning since they can cause extra skin sensitivity.

3. Moisturizer

No matter whether you have oily skin, have breakout, scars, acne, you need to use a moisturizer always. Because it’s one of the important things that keep your skin healthy. The moisturizer hydrates your skin, traps all the underneath ingredients and make them effective. 

Yes, oily skin needs moisturizer, but use one that is lightweight, gel-based, that doesn’t block your pores.

I’ve received Squalene + Zinc oil-free moisturizer. The Squalene keeps skin hydrated for long hours and controls excessive sebum production. The zinc prevents acne and has antibacterial properties.

Using this oil-free moisturizer doesn’t clog pores, hydrates my skin and on regular use maintain healthy-looking skin. I don’t notice any new pimples after its’ 7 days of usage.

The gel-based consistency feels light on the skin and breathable. The prescription recommends using the moisturizer twice a day after the treatment step with a gap of 10 min.

4. Treatment for skin concerns

The most important step in treating acne is the use of the right products. It depends on how deep your acne is. The acne-related products are salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, alpha-hydroxy acids, adapalene & tea tree oil available in the market. 

For treatment in the night, I’ve received Formula AC-1 of formulation Clindamycin 1% + Adapalene 0.1%. The adapalene prevents the accumulation of sebum and unclogs pores. Clindamycin is an antibiotic killing acne-causing bacteria.

Using this excess oil from my skin is reduce, no breakout is noticed. Though I feel dryness on my skin, it reduces with continuous use.

5. Sunscreen: 

Indian skin tones need more skin so broad-spectrum sunscreen is recommended by the dermatologist. The experts say to apply at least 30 SPF sunscreen 10 min before stepping out. 

I’ve received the Ultra Matte Sunscreen Gel that provides broad-spectrum protection with SPF 50, is oil-free, and won’t clog pores. 

The regular use prevents skin damage from the sun, protection from UVA and UVB rays. The oil-free makes it suitable for acne-prone and oily skin.

The prescription recommends using sunscreen once a day after moisturizer and before stepping outside.

My experience with the Derma co skin regimen

I’ve been using the kit for 10 days. The response so far is promising. I’ve not noticed any breakouts or new acne. My skin becomes less oily and hydrated. The dryness is reduced. The acne spots started disappearing, and even skin tone. The large pore starts to shrink.

Though 21 days of treatment is halfway. I’ll further update about my experience once the treatment is over. 

Things to keep in mind while undergoing skin-related treatment for all skin types
