Menstrual Cup A Period Game Changer #CauseAChatter

We all shied away from discussing periods and I’m not sure why. Probably out of embarrassment or because it feels like an intimate topic, but that’s not helpful.

It’s important we break down the stigma surrounding periods so that people who menstruate can be empowered to make sustainable choices.⁣

When we talked about period only a few options come in your mind- sanitary pads and tampons. There is one less talked about an option that has become popular nowadays-  That is menstrual cups.

The menstrual cups brings lots of question to you are mind. Today I’m answering queries related to a menstrual cup. So let’s get started.

Did you know that…⁣

2.5 million tampons & 1.4 million sanitary pads are dumped every single day.

Sanitary products are the 5th most common type of single-use plastics found in litter⁣.

Disposable menstrual products generate around 200,000 tonnes of waste per year.

As per studies, over 10 years, a single menstrual cup cost much less than pads or tampons.

It could take up to 800 years to decompose a single sanitary napkin.

Healthy hygiene and sustainability is the only way forward.

That’s not a planet-friendly solution. So, instead of contributing to these data start investing in a menstrual cup and honestly it will change your life.

Once you got used to using it, which did take a couple of months, you will found much comfier and more convenient than disposable alternatives.

Sustainable- You buy a menstrual cup once every 5 or 10 years. While you buy tampons or sanitary pads every month. By using a single menstrual cup, you are adding zero waste and cutting all trash.

Economic- It cost around 300 INR- 1500 INR on average while sanitary pads cost around 100-250 INR per month. As you look at long term usage, pads cost more. A single cup can be used for years that is for 5-10 years. So it’s obviously economic

Ecofriendly- The blood flushed into the toilets hence less waste generation. While in pads or tampons you are adding to the waste mountains.

All the female population on earth have periods. Yet no major period innovations have happened in the last 50 years.

It’s high time that we should consider the waste generated by the disposal of period-related products. Think about chemicals like fragrance or gel they made off that comes in contact with our bodies.

We think it’s time for A New Period. A menstrual cup is the easier, healthier, and greener alternative to pads and tampons:

No leaks, no worries, and can be worn for up to 12 hours.

No dryness, no infections: It is made of medical-grade silicone that doesn’t mess with your body.

Save money, spare our planet: It lasts for years, not hours = No waste and no monthly purchases.
