Is it’s safe to do Exercise during Pregnancy?

Yes, absolutely it’s safe to do exercise during pregnancy if you don’t have a complicated pregnancy. But before starting you should consult your doctor.

Most of the moderate-intensity exercises are safe as long as you don’t overdo them and perform as per your body bearable capacity. If you do exercise before pregnancy, they can continue with it, but before change it moderate activity mode.

How exercise Help during Pregnancy?

Exercise during pregnancy helps you stay fit and healthy. It’ll help to reduce stress, pregnancy discomfort, control blood sugar (may prevent gestational diabetes) and blood pressure level and strengthen your body for delivery.

It also lowers the risk of pre-term delivery, missed or threatened abortion or low birth weight.

how much exercise is too much during pregnancy?

WHO recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week during pregnancy.

What exercises are considered safe during pregnancy?

As I said exercise during pregnancy is safe, if you don’t overdo them and perform as per your body bearable capacity.

I always recommend my patients to go for brisk walking in the first three months as its risk of abortion maximum in the first three months. Apart from this, you can go for moderate aerobic exercise like swimming during pregnancy.

If you do exercise before pregnancy, they can continue with it, but before change it to moderate activity mode. But before starting you should consult your doctor.

Who Should Not do Exercise During Pregnancy?

If you have a complicated pregnancy or have a bad obstetrical history of miscarriages or getting pregnant at a late stage or suffering from diseases like diabetes, heart diseases, asthma etc.

If you are finding it uncomfortable during exercise, or complaint vaginal bleeding, breathlessness, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, chest pain then you should immediately stop doing exercise and consult your doctor before doing it.

Tips to follow during exercise session?

Wear loose clothes, workout in airy comfortable space. Don’t eat one hour before and after exercise. Drink water. Please be cautious with the surface. Stop if you are not feeling well and dehydrated. Don’t overdo.

How soon can I join my exercise routine post delivery?

My suggestion to enjoy your motherhood till next 6 months and your body recover to the fullest. But this doesn’t mean that you are completely at bed rest. Morning brisk walks can do wonders sometimes 🙂

  3. This should be helpful for many because most of people recommend no exercise despite of the fact that it actually keeps you healthy. It’s one of those things you hear but never research to know the truth. So yeah, really helpful 🙂
