Every year on Christmas
Her little eyes & big dreams
Pray to Santa for her safety
Convey my message to Majesty
That little woman on earth
Who Wish to be born
Don’t want to be torn
Live like others race of society
What’s my fault
oh Almighty
I’m Happy to be born
Joy of coming to world
Love from parents & family
Suddenly Her world turns upside down
On the last visit to USG
her Sex determination reveals
The family Become sad
Arrival of one more girl
This news makes them mad
And rest is history
Did she deserves this bad
Brutal, pain, tearful end.
No, she don’t
She has a heart
She is a human
Equal rights to live
Every year on Christmas
Her little eyes & big dreams
Pray to Santa for her safety
Convey my message to Majesty
That little woman on earth
Who Wish to be born
Don’t want to be torn
Live like others race of society
What’s my fault oh Almighty
Dear Santa Give me a boon
With best wishes for survival
That’s what I want on every girl’s Arrival
This poem has been written about the increase in Female foeticide in India, which means abortion of a female fetus outside of legal methods.
I come across many cases of Female foeticide, Though we live in Modern India, but the conditions are still the same, This makes me sad. In this poem, a female fetus is wishing Santa to give her special gift this Christmas & pray God to grant her Boon to be born safely.
Female foeticide is a matter of shame. We must take it as a social and moral responsibility to stop the practice of female foeticide and also educate and encourage others to stop it completely. At the end just want to say,
Stop Female Foeticide – Save the Girl Child
