My Dear, 16 Year Old Me
It’s been a long time since we sit together & recalled our sweet sour and bitter memories that happened to us. Whenever I recall my life when I was 16 I overwhelmed by memories & I must say that’s one of the best parts of my life as at that time I am bird free to fly high without any tensions & pressures.
When my day starts by annoying alarm whistle at 5 am sharp. And as usual, I woke at 6 am…get ready for school listening to moms morning lectures silently.
Gone the days when I recite the national anthem & choirs daily. Feels like the soldiers who get ready for war at borders. Here the situations are different we are getting ready to war with our books & teachers. A long list to go, hope to not miss anything.
Remember the famous sher
Baat niklegi to bahut dur talak jayegi
Log bewajah udaasi Karna sabab puchege
Ye bhi puchege ki tum tanha kyu ho
If the word gets out, it will get far off places,
People will ask the reason for your sadness,
They will also ask why are you so perturbed,
People will ask the reason for your sadness,
They will also ask why are you so perturbed,
Starting with my teachers. My Hindi mam famous dialogue Kripya shyampath ki aore dikhye
My biology mam Miss Rita is everyone favorite. She’s a darling, we all owe huge respect to our Teachers.
Me & my friends always annoys our library mam & chemistry mam
It’s very difficult to us to maintain silence in the library as we always believe rules are meant to break. And we always attend the chemistry practical just to increase our knowledge in the mass breaking of test tubes & flasks.
The only period we wait eagerly is for games & lunch breaks. Despite this, we always managed to pass exams.
Those were the times when we see dreams with open eyes. I am always a daydreamer. From class 5 I dream to be scientists but when I reached twelfth I make up my mind to pursue higher studies in medicine.
Birthday parties when we used to do lots of fun & I wore saree for the very first time at my farewell party. It was the most emotional goodbye to my school where I spend my last 14years, the school molded me up into the civilized woman. I sum this up in my poem
When I was 16 year
My life is very dear
No tension no pain
Where exams was only fear
Our life is so easy
Where no one is so busy
No internet no gadgets
Helping each other is our habits
Where fights last for 10 minutes
I miss those days
& Happy in 100 ways
When I was 16 year
My life is very dear
In between all my good and the bad version I used to manage to bring out the best in me. I really miss you my Dear, 16 Year Old Me. I am more lively, free, bubbly when we’re together. Now I am happy with my life but those tension free days are always close to my heart.
Remember the famous sher
ये दौलत भी ले लो, ये शोहरत भी ले लो
भले छीन लो मुझसे मेरी जवानी
मग़र मुझको लौटा दो बचपन का सावन
वो कागज़ की कश्ती, वो बारिश का पानी
Take away my wealth and fame
You may even take my youth
But please return the monsoon of my childhood
that paper made the boat, and the rain
You may even take my youth
But please return the monsoon of my childhood
that paper made the boat, and the rain
Thanks & Miss you, Dear, 16 Year Old Me

I’d have to go back over 50 years to think back to when I was 16. But the most memorable thing to remember is meeting my now hubby! How I waited for the bell to ring so I could see him!
